About

Welcome to Sisyphus

Sisyphus is a research group aiming at the analysis of operational research problems. The objectives of Sisyphus include collection and analysis of data, mathematical modeling and simulation of optimization problems, solution and presentation of results and conclusions. Sisyphus uses a variety of optimization methods (classical and modern) along with the development of special software adjusted to the demands and particularities of each specific problem.

About Sisyphus

Sisyphus was established in 2012 by scientists, members of the Division of Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering of the Department of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. The common target of its members is the analysis and investigation of optimization problems, using either conventional methods (linear and non-linear optimization) but mainly, metaheuristic methods.
